Hello lovely reader! It's been a little while since I've blogged and following tonight's bloggers chat on Twitter, I decided to write a post and catch up with you and kind of explain the lack of activity!
So firstly, how are you? How's your week been?
I don't want to go in detail about my job but let's just say it's been bloomin' busy! I have been up at 5am most days in the last two weeks and sadly crashing out early evening on my sofa with no time or energy to write and amuse you. Apologies.
In between the non stop work, I did have a lovely day last week and headed down to London. I went for lunch at Pizza Express and had my favourite Padana pizza which is a mix of goats cheese, spinach and caramelised onion goodness and then I went to the Victoria Theatre to watch the production of Billy Elliot which was amazing! I love going to the theatre and watching musicals, last year I went to see Wicked whilst I was in New York and it was incredible! And in November last year I went to London and saw War Horse which I loved. I watched the film Billy Elliot years and years ago so I couldn't remember the details of the story other than the boy's quest to be a dancer but I really loved the show and the children in the production are so amazingly talented, they must rehearse so hard to be that perfect. Hat's off to them!
Whilst in the big city I paid a brief visit to Big Ben and had a wander down to Downing street as it was election day here in the UK and I wanted to noisy at the action! It really was a lovely day and I would definitely recommend you to go and see Billy Elliot you won't be disappointed.
This week I took at trip up North to Southport which is near Liverpool to go and see a fantastic jazz singer by the name of Gregory Porter. If you haven't heard his music before, download his album Liquid Spirit set some chill time aside and pop your headphones in. I had booked tickets for my partner's birthday present and this is a rare case of going to see something we both loved! Gregory and his band are amazing, based in New York (which makes me love them even more!) they are super talented and I had such a lovely evening topped off by meeting him by chance in the foyer after the show! He was a lovely gent and I would love to watch him perform again in the future.
This weekend I have been manly catching up with family, doing the usual jobs around the flat and also making sure I stick to my daily dose of yoga- click the link to find out more, I blogged about it before! I am off on holiday in just over a week and I'm getting stretched out and limbering up ready for my bikini debut of the year. I can't wait to get away and top up on vitamin D, in a safe manner of course!
I am on the 5am wake up calls again for me this week! I hope you've had a lovely weekend- what have you been up to?
Until next time, Steph :)
