NO7 NAILS

I picked up some gorgeous nail polishes from the No7 range this week. They have some beautiful colours at the moment and I did get a little crazy and bought quite a few of them but they are so pretty!

The varnishes I picked up are from their Gel-Look range. I love this collection, I think No7 have really updated the colours they offer and have much more daring, vibrant shades and the gel polishes have amazing shine too. As they are 'gel look' rather than actual gel nails, they don't require any fiddly removal process or curing lamp and they won't leave nails weak or damaged. I like to use the No7 base coat and they also do a gel look top coat which gives a perfect glass like finish.

I bought a couple of the new shades they have just released but also some of the established colours as I just couldn't resist!

I really loved these cool toned shades and the blues are gorgeous. So left to right the colours above are called Porcini, Grey Mist which is a new shade, Mint Treat and Persian blue, another new shade which I particularly love. The nude and grey shade are really timeless and so easy to wear but for a pop of colour the teal and blue are edgy ocean vibes.

I also bought some super Summery tropical colours.

These are (left to right) Sweet lilac, Coral Crush which are both new shades, Summer Holiday and Hotting up. These colours scream holiday, beach, sunshine and cocktails to me!

I love all of these colours! The only problem I have now is deciding which one to wear!
I hope this post will give you some inspiration you for Spring and Summer nails. What do you think to these shades? Be sure to leave me a comment you lovely lot!

Until next time, Steph :)

DAMAGE FREE NAIL FILE

It may seem a bit far fetched to write a blog about a simple nail file however I can't recommend this file enough. And let's face it, we all need a trusty nail file to keep our nails perfectly shaped!

Dubbed 'The Rolls Royce' of nail files, the Leighton Denny Crystal Nail File is made (as the name suggests) from crystal and has a treated surface which allows you to use back and forth stroke to file your nails. This would be a definite no no with emery boards as it would cause damage to the nail and the thought of using one of those does slightly send shivers through me!

I have been using the Leighton Denny file for about seven years and I am only on my second ever file. The reason for this is because they come with a life time guarantee which applies to the surface of the file. How many products do you know that come with a life time guarantee? The only reason I am on my second is unfortunately they don't mix well when dropped at height on a concrete floor!

I first began using this file in a professional capacity when I worked in a spa and did manicures and the results I saw for clients were fantastic. If you suffer from fragile nails, peeling, splitting or weak nails this file works amazingly to help build strength. It turns the edge of the nail to dust as it shortens the length and seals the edge to help prevent damage to the nails and build strength.

It can take a few goes to get the hang of using it if you've never used a crystal file before but out of the ones I have tried I find that this one is the best and most effective. I wouldn't use it on my toes nails, just my finger nails but it really does a great job!

Have you tried this file and seen a difference? Drop me a comment!

Until next time, Steph :)

SPRING LIPSTICK REFRESH

With the weather showing definite signs of perking up for Spring, I decided my lipstick wardrobe needed a bit on an refresh to reflect the season. I used to be a full time lip gloss wearer but as I've got older I've been swayed over to the stick side more and my recent additions are high street gems from L'Oreal.

I wanted to get staple shades that would be easy to wear and give me different looks so I opted for three L'Oreal Colour Riche lipsticks. One in a pale pink shade, one a raspberry shade and one coral colour. I've had a few of these lipsticks in the past and there are lovely and moisturising, they have great colour pigments and they have real staying power too without breaking the bank.

My pale pink shade is number 136 Flamingo Elegance. I really like this colour, it's a very pretty and girly and a great 'goes with anything' shade. Perfect for those who aren't overly daring with their lip shade but who want to have a little something Spring like.

I do love a raspberry lip! This one is number 370 Crazy Fuchsia and is much more daring than the pale pink but a perfect Spring/Summer statement lip shade. It's a very playful, vibrant colour amazing for sunny days and holidays I think this will look gorgeous with a subtle tan.

My final lipstick I picked up was number 371 Pink Passion which I think looks more coral than the name suggests. I love everything coral, it's my favourite colour for many things. I love coral coloured clothing, nail varnishes and of course lip shades! Being a brunette I feel like this colour really suits me (I could be wrong but hey I like it!) It is such a great shade for this time of year another perfect holiday must-have.

I absolutely love my updated lip wardrobe! It's so easy to end up with a million different lipsticks, where some are so similar in shade it's hard to tell them apart. I tried to keep it simple on this shopping trip, opting for three different, key seasonal colours that I can wear throughout Spring and into Summer and that  I can create fun looks with.

What do you think of these colours? Have you found any seasonal must-haves? Comment below!

Until next time, Steph :)

EYE SAVIOUR

I am not a morning person. I wish I was. I would love to hear the sound of my alarm and jump straight out of bed feeling refreshed and ready to go! But that's just not going to happen, I way too familiar with my snooze button. So when I finally do get up, I need all the help I can get to wake up which is where Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing eye lotion comes in.

This is a fantastic product which can be used for lots of different eye related concerns. It is described as a herbal lotion but the consistency is more link a toning water, very light and fresh and is applied to cotton wool to use. This product is amazing eye treatment. If you spend all day looking at a computer screen and find your eyes become tired and uncomfortable or you suffer with puffiness around the eye area or you need a little help waking up in the morning it's a great tonic to have.

Eyebright has amazing soothing properties which to help your eyes to feel more refreshed and comfortable. It contains naturally active plant ingredients such as Aloe Vera to soothe, Cornflower and Eyebright extract to reduce puffiness, Witch Hazel to tone the delicate eye area and glycerin to aid hydration.

I use it in many different ways. I always use it in the morning by lightly pressing soaked cotton pads over my eyes as part of my cleansing routine as it's so refreshing and helps clean around my eyes, brighten them and take down any morning puffiness. I sometimes use it in the evening after I've cleansed my skin to lightly wipe over my eyes to ensure I've removed all my eye make up too.

This product is also amazing for those of you that suffer with irritated or stinging eyes due to hay fever or allergy symptoms. It works so well at cooling and calming discomfort. A little tip when using it for any allergies is pop the bottle in the fridge for 5 to 10 minutes before using it, then dampen your cotton wool pads in the lotion and lay on the sofa with the pads over your eyes. This honestly feels heavenly! And will hopefully stop you from rubbing away at that oh so delicate eye area.

A brilliant product all year round but if your bracing yourself for the hay fever season and are wanting to try something extra to add a little ease into your life this Summer then give this a go! Definitely a product I'm never without!

Have you tried it? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, Steph :)
