MY ULTIMATE CLEANSER

Dearest reader, fancy seeing you here! If your reading this, it means I have gone through a number of drafts, read this piece so many times I could do it to camera without gazing down once, had a few nervous deep breaths and potentially have squealed whilst simultaneously pressing the rather simple but very scary 'publish' button. And here I am. Online and blogging! Hooray!

For my very first blog, there was only one brand and one product in particular I had in mind that I wanted to share with you. This is because it is something I absolutely LOVE and it is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. So here goes......

I have been using Cleanse and Polish for about 6 years (how has 6 years gone so fast!). And given that in this day and age, the beauty industry constantly offers consumers so many new products, 'quick fixes' and gimmicks, I feel it is quite an impressive feat for the brand that I, and I dare say others, have remained in a loving and committed relationship with one product for such a length of time.

I love the ethos of the Isle of Wight based brand. They are committed to making affordable products that really work on every skin type, devising simple, no fuss dependable skincare routines. Perfect! They use naturally active botanical ingredients to create their little pots of skincare joy, sourcing ingredients responsibly, never testing on animals nor using any animal or genetically engineered ingredients.

The cleanser itself it designed for all skin types, so whether your a sensitive soul, as dry as a desert or feeling a touch too oily it will be suitable for you. It's a beautiful creamy consistency and contains Rosemary, Chamomile, Cocoa butter and Eucalyptus essential oil. It is a two phase product and is to be used with a muslin cloth (see first photo) which you can buy with the cleanser. Using one pump of the cleanser, you massage the product in circular motions all over the face onto dry skin or over make up. This is the first 'cleansing ' stage. Once you've massaged your product all over the face and neck you then rinse the cloth in warm water and then use the cloth to remove the cleanser, rinsing it as often as needed. This is the second 'polishing' stage where the skin is lightly exfoliated with the cloth to buff away dead skin cells and brighten the skins appearance. I do love a multitasking product!

I would definitely suggest to have a few of the cloths at home so that you always have a nice fresh one to use each time you cleanse. They say generally each cloth should last you around 3 months so that you get the best exfoliating results from them. After that they do become very handy dusters! It is fab for taking off make up and it is gentle enough to be used over the eye area to take off even waterproof mascara, so no need for a separate, extra step eye make up remover. Bonus! If you do use it to take your make up off, I would recommend doing a second cleanse, using a lovely fresh cloth and follow the same procedure. That way you can be really sure you have taken all of your make up off properly and allow the skin to take in all the yummy nutrients the product contains.

Genuinely, this cleanser turned my skin around. I mean a good, full on 360 turn. As a teen, I really suffered with constant breakouts all over my face which, like a lot of people out there, dented my confidence and effected how I felt about myself. I tried so many different products and medication until I stumbled across Liz Earle and I have never looked back. Now I'm not saying it is a miracle cure and I cannot promise supermodel skin after one use. But for me, being religious with use over time, I definitely found my skin becoming clearer, smoother and healthier looking and breakouts would clear away more quickly. I am not spot free, I am still get pesky hormonal treats (spots around the chin and jawline!) but I am so much more happy with my skin than I was. I love the smell of the product, it's very fresh and spa-like which makes it feel more of a treat to use and morning and night, it's my go to product.

If your having problematic skin and want to try to and gain some balance back, I would always suggest looking at your diet, lifestyle and water intake and what you are using to clean your skin to help get rid of dirt, sweat and daily life pollutants. This first step is really important to get right and it may take a few attempts but if your at your wits end give this one a go. An ample travel sized 50ml tube plus cloth direct from Liz Earle is £9.25 or if you want to dive right in a 100ml cleanser plus cloth is £15.50.  If you decide to give it a go, I'd love to know how you get on or if you're already in a love affair with the Hot Cloth Cleanser, then let me know your thoughts and experiences in the comments.
Thank you so much for reading till the very end! *high five*

Until next time,  Steph :)
